Silk & Sand

Here I am shit's lookin' grim from the pit in which I stand Silk and sand slippin' through your fingers I'm a nowhere man It's hard to be blank on the outside and in my head It's like a bomb went off in a crayon factory And life alone always killin' time here on my own It's killin' me just like the latest disease You make me cry all liquified and down on my knees Not to pray but just to ask of ...

1966 song by The Creation covered by yours truly with added noise and righteous anger. Artwork adapted from cat by Tyler Wintermute. (Careful if you're listening on headphones, because LOUD NOISES.)

The shitty new sounds of WhackaWhacka. Lyrics: In a hollow room In a white house set back from the road Such a heavy load It breaks the back and warps the soul On a river walk A mile or so south of downtown King William smiles Old St. Mary goes on for miles In a Soulard style Lonely second story and shitty view Drunks and chipped windows How could I have known it was an all time low Every place...

I just uploaded this under another name, with a different video, but windows movie maker made a mess of it and it didn't come out like I wanted it to. This video and title are more faithful to the images the song brings to mind for me, in any case. The music is mine. The video is excerpted from a dvd compilation of films by the Edwardian Era filmmakers Mitchell & Kenyon.

Nossa como eu sou apaixonado por essa menina ela me traz paz eu a. Amo como eu a conhecesse 😊❤
Shurly one of the finest songs ever sung
I still rock this. It used to be the first song I put on while people are walking in. Sometimes in the middle of a mix I drop this in (as a tease) and the crowd goes crazy.
True story: In 2020 I flew to Chicago to see King Buffalo, but it was REZN the supporting band who I really wanted to see. In between bands Wolf City started playing over the PA, I was blown away. It’s the first time that I’ve ever heard Amon Düül played in public, and I couldn’t ask for a better time, and place to hear Wolf City, Lincoln Hall, center balcony, tripping on THC gummies, Chicago.
This classic has a somewhat climbing rhythm.
Anyone have the lyrics?
They were good live too saw them in Leeds warehouse in 80s😊😊😊
"Help, or I'll drown!" "Better you than me."
"And time hurries by without a word to anyone; it leaves only memories."
Nice title.
There's not too many singers who have that rare gift of being able to take you to another place and time with their music, Nic is one of these. Simple yet majestic, this song is an absolute gem. Thanks for sharing.
Fun fact: there is a sample of Toni Halliday's dog panting on this song. The dog was called Turkey
My introduction to the very early Steeleye Span after I had bought Parcel of Rogues and Below the Salt - it was on a compilation in the mid 70s - beautiful song
This is a reminder of when I first began listening to Steeleye Span something like 50 years ago. Such an absolutely brilliant and talented band!
I don't think it can be done any better! Perfection!
god bless.
mind you she was 17
kate + piano = perfection ❤️
My favorite song of this album. It brings you in immediately and that solo section notes and delivery goosebumps me every time. Sublime.
Brings back memories wow 😂😂😂
This wasn’t a single, so how come I remember hearing it so much on the radio around that time?
Reminds me of The Sound.
I love how their music shimmers over and through you in waves i would gladly drown in ❤
Tellement classe ....🎉
Way better than The Cure
I Knew a girl,”Smudge”. She was light years ahead of me. I looked up to her.She was the bees knees. We were as close as could be without physical relations.Yet I’m grateful for her presence at the time. She was a cog in the wheel for me getting out of bed ,rubbing my eyes and waking up. Hope she’s alright! Ps: Philip made it with you.I wish I was jealous….
x ray spex ? hehe
A clear and honest cuckoo song. I am richer now

$499 cd on amazon 😮
just a golden shower of a track!
I watched the Enz sing this live in the Queens Hotel in Brisbane, will never forget it, Tim opened the song with just vocals, I think the whole place was spellbound. I have always since counted this song as one of my absolute favs.
I drummed for a band when I was 16. The guitarist John played this to me…… hooked. I think it was 1981? I’m not old I just have seasoning
A song that encompasses what set The Comsat's apart from their new wave/post punk contemporaries. Excellent songwriting, soulful vocals and a truly psychedelic edge.
this reminds me of a cult hospital I know
If only she sang rocket man with this amount of passion, its the only time she ever disappointed.
d-_-b
I am all that remains...
Where are these scenes from?
real music
I love this song. Awesome band!
❤ I think that there is a very interesting film to accompany this old folk music classic. Possibly summed up in a comical mixture of the muddy slopes of Glastonbury and the vehicles and people who travel there.❤
Sounds like these guys are very influenced by the pixies!!!!
Haunting rendition of this-mostly- trad song. When the banjo kicks in around 3:00 minutes, the song lifts into the stratosphere as Steeleye does so well!
I was aware of two of the songs because of June Tabor in the 80's. It would not be till around 2006 before I finally heard Bright Phoebus.
Such a great bassline
Still slaps in 2024❤
Just wow.
Masterpiece congratulations to Marc for his Marvellous career. His music IS for me like a lullaby soothing !
